The Explorer of YYachts was developed from the research vessel “Eugen Seibold” which we built. Built for travel to all regions of the world. The YX feels just as at home in the Mediterranean as in the Norwegian fjords in autumn or in a small harbor in Greenland.
From the all-round safety glass deck saloon, you have your ship and sail in view at all times – no matter what weather conditions or temperatures prevail in the cockpit. Otherwise maintenance-free and self-sufficient are at the top of the specifications.

DISCOVER and comfort? SURE
We laminate the fuselage soundly with glass fiber mats and epoxy resin for any rough treatment, as well as Kevlar and carbon reinforcements in the bow area. In the interests of safety, we accept a higher total weight. All deck areas are secured by a gangway and a massive railing. The YX is controlled under the protection of the large structure or from the salon. A powerful engine and huge tank capacity for a yacht of this size leaves no doubt that the YX should sail far from marinas. In the development of the YX, we are constantly incorporating the experience of the YX PURE "Eugen Seibold", which is currently on a worldwide research expedition. This gives you the assurance that there are no surprises on your expeditions.
RESEARCH and WELL-living? OF COURSE
The hull is mostly made of classic fiberglass, with carbon fiber reinforcements. Unlike steel ships, it does not pollute the plastic to be sampled as a plastic yacht, for example due to rust. Her elegant line comes from the pen of Lorenzo Argento. Nevertheless, the requirements for the "Eugen Seibold" are very different than a private yacht. The research sailor weighs a maximum of 44 tons, fully loaded with equipment and due to the oversized hull.
Welcome to the deck of the YX PURE for DISCOVERERS
The sail operation is hydraulic, as well as the pivoting of the A-frame on the aft deck. Through it nets and water samples can be obtained from up to 2500 meters depth. The samples are packaged below deck and deep-frozen. In addition to a 170-hp six-cylinder diesel, a 288-volt generator and two electric drive motors with lithium iron phosphate batteries were also installed.
THE YX PURE is Perhaps the greenest research vessel in the world
Thus, the "Eugen Seibold" can go up to nine hours emission-free, so it is able to take unpolluted air samples from the atmosphere. An advantage that diesel-powered research vessels do not have systemically. The two-winged propeller allows the batteries to be recharged under sail even at hull speed.

The interior is user-oriented and practical. Important features are the second, aft exit to the aft deck as well as the deckhouse. Eight berths are offered by the YX PURE, in addition to some laboratory space.
The "Eugen Seibold" was financed by the Swiss Werner Siemens Foundation, which specializes in research funding. The sponsor is the German Max Planck Institute.

TRAVEL WITH THE BEST VIEW
The high structure with its straight panes of safety glass gives you a fantastic all-round view without having to leave the salon. As a fixed element, we plan the salon and pantry in each version in the deck saloon. At anchor you leave the salon through a stable sliding door into the protected cockpit.
The cozy seating area and the sunbathing areas have been designed so that you can use the outdoor areas even in wind and low temperatures.

WELCOME HOME - THE YX INTERIOR
With its 6-meter-wide hull, the YX offers enormous space and below deck. The owner‘s cabin extends the full width of the ship, with a luxurious bath and private deck access. We can also completely separate the owner and crew area. Have you always dreamed of an office on the water? In the fully glazed salon of the YX you can realize that too.
