AND PASSION

THE STORY OF YYACHTS

The origin of YYachts is one of the many success stories of its founder Michael Schmidt. Schmidt, himself a passionate regatta sailor and boat builder, was looking for a private sailing yacht.
The key data was set for him: a yacht must be fast, so light, after all, he had once built the first carbon racing yacht and he brought Admirals Cupper´s like "Pinta" and "Container" on the water. In addition, a yacht needs its own aesthetic for Michael Schmidt.

A modern Yacht needs to be fast

Something that distinguishes her from all other yachts makes her a solitary standout in a harbor that one still likes to look at after years. Since he did not find any new yacht or a used one in at the boat market, he decided to build his perfect sailing yacht himself.

With Lorenzo Argento of Brenta Design and Sir David Chipperfield he found sailors with the same passion; Argento for the construction and Chipperfield for interior and design. 2014 was the birth of YYachts.

FAST IS FUN

According to Michael Schmidt, the ideal cruiser is the opposite of a heavy yacht overloaded with all the features: "Sailing fun is made possible by a simple boat that is reduced to the bare essentials without sacrificing comfort. "

"Everything together makes up to us the fascination of our yachts. This is what we want to convey to our customers."

A YYacht has to run at a reasonable speed for us even in the lightest wind without starting the engine. Once you have experienced this, you do not want to sail on any other yacht.
It's like bringing together several complications in a swiss clockwork: the playful mastery of long distances, the easy handling of a large yacht, the performance in every wind, coupled with a high-quality living atmosphere.

RESPECTING THE ELEMENTS

At YYachts, saving on materials is also environmental protection. Lightweight ships reduce the operating forces and manage with smaller machines. If required, hybrid drives or energy recovery systems are installed that reduce primary energy demand. YYachts has been a pioneer in this field since 2018.

With the "Eugen Seibold" a 22 meter research yacht based on the YX was built. Above all, the so-called euphotic, light-flooded zone up to 500 meters deep is to be explored with the Explorer yacht.

As a supplement to the large German research vessels "Meteor" or "Sun", several thousand water samples can be taken annually. With its electric drive, the "Eugen Seibold" provides important know-how for the entire Y/Yachts range.

The ship was financed by the Swiss Werner Siemens Foundation, a heavyweight in research funding.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Responsiveness is as important to YYachts as the construction of the yacht itself. As a privately owned company, the shipyard on the Baltic Sea is able to accommodate all customer requirements.

We feel connected to you for a lifetime

For Michael Schmidt, this is a matter of the heart: "Our yachts always have to be just as much a part of the customer's philosophy as of the yard." With each project we start again.

That's the big challenge, but also the fun of boat building that we can live here. " Another important concern is after-sale.

YYachts wants to stay in touch with every customer, even in 20 years. Anyone who chooses a YYacht buys this security.
